Al Mirqab and Al Wukair reach final of 16th Al Furjan Football Tournament

Al Mirqab and Al Wukair have qualified for the final of the 16th Al Furjan Football Tournament, organised by the Qatar Sports for All Federation under the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

The two teams will meet on Tuesday, October 6, at Khalifa City Stadium to determine this year’s champion.

Al Mirqab beat Al Rayyan 4-2

Al Mirqab secured their place in the final following a 4-2 victory over Al Rayyan in the semifinals.

The result capped a strong run through the competition and earned the team a place in the title match.

Al Wukair defeat Umm Al Jamajim

In the other semifinal, Al Wukair defeated Umm Al Jamajim 3-1 to claim the second place in the final.

The result sets up an Al Mirqab–Al Wukair showdown for the championship.

Young Qatari talent stands out

Organisers said the tournament has featured strong competition and improving technical levels as it progressed through the various stages.

Abdullah Al-Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, said the semifinals produced two competitive matches and highlighted the development of the teams throughout the tournament.

He also pointed to the emergence of several young Qatari players, saying competitions such as Al Furjan provide valuable opportunities to gain experience and improve technical ability.

Final to decide 16th edition champion

Attention now turns to the final at Khalifa City Stadium, where Al Mirqab and Al Wukair will compete for the title of the tournament’s 16th edition.
