Al Rayyan Aim to Strengthen Qualification Chances Against Oman's Al Nahda in AFC Champions League Two

Al Rayyan SC will seek to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the Round of 16 in the AFC Champions League Two when they host Oman’s Al Nahda Club on Wednesday at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Matchday Four of Group C, which also includes Saudi Arabia’s Al Taawoun FC and Jordan’s Al Faisaly. Al Rayyan SC enter the match aiming for a third victory after moving into second place in the group with six points from a 4-3 win over Al Faisaly and a 4-1 victory against Al Nahda Club in the previous round, while losing 2-1 to Al Taawoun FC.

Vicente Moreno’s side understand the importance of maintaining their positive results and producing another strong performance against the Omani team as they target a ninth point and move closer to securing a place in the next round of the continental competition. Al Rayyan SC have also impressed in this season’s Doha Bank Stars League, where they sit second with 18 points, behind leaders Al Sadd only on goal difference, establishing themselves as strong title contenders after drawing 0-0 with Al Arabi in their latest match in Week 8.

Al Rayyan SC will look to capitalise on their strong form and positive atmosphere by defeating Al Nahda Club and collecting three more points before visiting Jordan’s Al Faisaly in the fourth round on 25 November. The team will rely on several players who have stood out this season and contributed to their strong results, led by Brazilian top scorer Roger Guedes, Gabriel Pereira and Belgian midfielder Julien De Sart, alongside Ahmed Al Janhi and goalkeeper Mahmoud Abunada.

Al Nahda Club, meanwhile, will seek to revive their hopes of reaching the next round and get their campaign back on track after two defeats and one draw in their first three matches left them fourth and bottom of the group with one point. The Omani side must avoid a third defeat in their fourth match to preserve their qualification hopes, while Matchday Four will also see Group C leaders Al Taawoun FC, who have seven points, host third-placed Al Faisaly, who have three.
