Brookfield Opens Doha Office to Strengthen Global Credit Platform Presence

Brookfield announced today the opening of a new office in Doha focused on its global credit investment platform, including Oaktree. The move aims to strengthen the company's presence in Qatar and expand its business across the Gulf Cooperation Council.

A company statement said the new office reflects Brookfield's commitment to its existing partnerships and investment activities in Qatar, including its $20 billion partnership with Qai, Qatar's AI company and a subsidiary of Qatar Investment Authority. The partnership aims to invest in AI infrastructure in Qatar and international markets.

Jad Ellawn, Managing Partner and Regional Head of the Middle East at Brookfield, said the State of Qatar is an important global investment hub. He noted that the company has built strong partnerships with leading institutions over recent years, including Qatar Investment Authority.

Ellawn said establishing a presence in Doha is a natural step in the company's regional expansion. He expressed optimism about promising investment opportunities and said Brookfield looks forward to continuing its investments and strengthening long-term cooperation in the State of Qatar.

The office opening reflects Brookfield's approach of establishing a local presence in markets where it invests capital. The company will work closely with its partners to explore attractive investment opportunities on the ground, reinforcing its long-term commitment to Qatar.

Brookfield is one of the leading foreign investors in the Gulf Cooperation Council, currently managing approximately $20 billion in regional assets across private equity, real estate, credit and infrastructure.

Brookfield is also a global investment firm with more than $1 trillion in assets under management. It owns and manages real assets and businesses providing essential services that form part of the global economy's backbone, and invests on behalf of institutions and individuals worldwide across infrastructure, energy, private equity, real estate and credit—sectors central to supporting economic growth and enhancing productivity.
