Qatar, which has been enjoying an extended bout of winter, will now get to experience some rain again.

The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) said parts of the country was likely to receive scattered rain from Sunday onwards, until the middle of the week. It said the rains would be thundery at times, in certain areas.

The QMD said the amount of clouds across the country would increase from Saturday.

“It is expected that the amount of clouds will increase over the country from Saturday 25/2/2023, and chances of scattered rain will develop from Sunday 26/2/2023 until the middle of the week, it may be thundery at times,” said the QMD.

On Friday, Abu Samra recorded the lowest temperature in the country — 12°C — while the temperature reached 17°C in Doha.

Qatar had enjoyed some good weather after the end of the Bard Al Azariq season in January, which saw the coldest days of the year in the country.

While there were a few dusty mornings and cold nights in the past week, now it looks like the time for some rain.

The country had experienced some rain in mid-January, with temperatures in the country dropping low.

Here is a short video with some tips about driving safely during rain.
