After some mild and moderate weather, the country is set to start heating up from today (April 29), announced Qatar Calendar House (QCH).

“Tomorrow marks the beginning of the 39-day ‘Al Kannah’ season, during which the stars of the Pleiades star cluster disappear, with the mild evening weather coming to an end, and the beginning of scorching summer heat during the day,” said the QCH in a tweet on Friday.

It added that the country will experience frequent weather fluctuations and dust storms halfway into the Al Kannah season.

Meanwhile, the Qatar Meteorology Department’s weather forecast for Saturday said the country would experience relatively hot daytime with some clouds, with temperatures varying between 25°C and 38°C in most parts of Qatar.

The wind will blow southeasterly to southwesterly, with speeds between five and 15 knots, gusting to 21 knots, while the sea state will be between two and four feet raising to six feet at times.

Qatar experienced its coldest days of the year in January, with the advent of the Bard Al Azariq. The extremely cold weather lasted until the end of the month.

The country then experienced the first signs of spring last month, with the Hameemain (two heats) season beginning on March 8 and lasting for 26 days. The length of day and night became equal during the middle of this season.
