The National Sport Day Committee said it is continuing to receive and evaluate sports activities organised by ministries, government entities and private-sector institutions for the second edition of the National Sport Day Award 2026, with winners to be announced on February 1, 2027.
The committee encouraged institutions to participate in the initiative, which aims to promote healthy lifestyles, increase physical activity, and foster active workplace environments. The award recognises organisations that support community sports and help integrate sports culture into daily life and the workplace.
Participating entities must register event details through the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s website. Submissions are evaluated within seven days from the start of the month following the event.
Institutions are also encouraged to promote activities on social media using the hashtags #IChoseSports and #SportIsLife, while tagging the National Sports Day account (QASportsForAll).
Participants must document events through photos and videos, publish them on official platforms, and provide participant statistics and activity details.
Evaluation is based on four criteria: number of events organised, event duration, participant turnout, and involvement in activities listed in the Sport for All calendar. Compliance with safety requirements, equipment provision, and medical support is mandatory.
During the 2025 National Sports Day celebrations, the Ministry of Interior won the inaugural award, followed by the University of Doha for Science and Technology and Qatar Foundation.
Individuals were also recognised for sustained participation in community sports initiatives.
