Competitions of the second round of HH The Father Amir’s Prix continued on Friday at the Longines outdoor and indoor arenas in Al Shaqab.
Competitions of 10 different rounds for One-Star, Three-Star, and Five-Star categories were held at varying heights, alongside a local round at a height of 80cm, with the participation of more than 240 male and female riders. The total prize pool exceeds €3.3m for the championship.
The day’s competitions kicked off with a Three-Star round at a height of 130cm, followed by a 3 Star round at a height of 145cm, then Five-Star competitions at a height of 145cm, followed by a 5-Star round at a height of 155cm with a jump-off.
For the first time in an international championship, a round for the 5-Star category (6 obstacles) was held at a height of 150cm, which garnered significant public attention due to the excitement and high challenge it features among riders.
In the secondary outdoor arena, 3 Star competitions were held at a height of 140cm with a jump-off, while the Longines indoor arena hosted Star category competitions at a height of 115cm, followed by an international round for the youth category at a height of 125cm, then a Star round at a height of 125cm, and the day concluded with competitions in the local round at a height of 80cm.
The Five-Star round, consisting of 6 obstacles, witnessed immense excitement as the obstacle height reached 190cm, where the French rider Megan Meusnier was crowned champion by achieving a faultless round, followed in second place by the Italian Roberto Previtali, while Portugual’s Duarte Silva came in third.
The first round of the Three-Star category at a height of 130cm saw Egyptian rider Ismail El Berei shine for the second consecutive day. He finished top in 27.83sec astride Incrediball. He was followed by Jordan’s Ibrahim Hani Bsharat (28.54sec, Corona), while Khalid Al Hadi came in third (28.93sec, Capion).
In the 145cm round for the same category, German rider Philip Weishaupt was crowned round champion by achieving a time of 58.47 seconds on Caraldo, followed by Qatar’s Saad Al Qahtani (59.14sec, Comte de Roit) and Saudi Arabia’s Kamal Abdullah (60.61sec, Quicky).
In the Three Stars round at a height of 140cm with a jump-off, Turkish rider Hasan Senturk managed to secure first and second places (33.52sec, Al Zass, and 33.76sec, Diam) while Jordan’s Bisher Kyaly was third (34.14sec, Wilfredo).
In the indoor arena, the competitions began with a Star round at a height of 115cm. Qatari rider Ali Omar Al Ansari took first place (48.75sec, Nikita), followed by Abdullah Ahmed Al Khalifi (49.14sec, Quinta) and Saudi Arabia’s Salem Al Harith (49.59sec, Lovina).
In the 125cm round for the same category, Egyptian rider Fatima Mohand Al Kashawi took first place in 56.37sec, astride Quinalou. She was followed by compatriot Sayf Faisal (56.72sec, Leonard) while Qatar’s Mohammed Issa Al Bukhari finished third (57.26sec, Steve).
In the international youth category round at a height of 125cm, Qatari rider Abdullah Khalid Al Jalandani was crowned round champion. He finished the round in 31.56sec on Nuanse. He was followed by Saudi Arabia’s Mashael Al Qahtani (33.1sec, Minky) and Qatar’s Ibrahim Yusuf Al Mahmoud (33.96sec, Vito Blue).
In the local round at a height of 80cm, Khalifa Abdullah Al Sulaiti took first place, followed by Reem Hamza Al Kuwari and Ghanim Thamer Al Maadadi.
The first Five Stars category round at a height of 145 cm witnessed excitement among the riders, where British rider Millie Ailin was crowned first place by achieving a time of 59.58sec on Diamond, followed by USA’s Eve Jobs (59.68sec, Cannadel) and Denmark’s Caroline Riehof (61.19sec, Chakbal).
Ten riders qualified for the jump-off in the Five Stars round at a height of 155cm, where Austrian rider Max Kühner took first place in 41.42sec on Quantum, followed by Germany’s Gianna Meyer Zermatten (41.53sec, Kilajon) and Ireland’s Neil Fearon (42.56sec, Derrigim).
