Final day to explore Wifaq’s exhibition on stronger family bonds

The Family Consulting Center Wifaq, one of the centres under the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, is concluding its awareness art exhibition “Links – Visual Stories that Enhance Family Cohesion” today, Sunday, October 4.

The exhibition combines art with family awareness, using visual and interactive experiences to explore the values and everyday practices that contribute to stronger and more stable family relationships.

Art as a way to discuss family relationships

The exhibition presents a collection of works examining themes such as dialogue, listening, inclusion, mutual respect, parent-child relationships, security, belonging and spending time together.

Wifaq says the concept is built around the idea that family cohesion is not created through one major moment, but through positive behaviours and interactions repeated in everyday life.

Exploring different sides of family bonding

Some artworks highlight how parental presence and support can help children develop confidence and a sense of security.

Others focus on the complementary roles of parents, the importance of love and respect between spouses, and how communication and cooperation can contribute to a stable family environment.

Shared experiences and family memories are also explored as important elements in building a stronger sense of connection and belonging.

Focus on young people preparing for marriage

The exhibition also places particular emphasis on young people and those preparing for marriage.

Visitors can learn about Wifaq’s premarital awareness and preparation programmes, which aim to equip couples with the knowledge and communication skills needed to better understand married life and build stronger relationships from the beginning.

Visitors become part of the experience

“Links” is designed to go beyond a traditional exhibition format.

Interactive elements encourage visitors to reflect on the relationships within their own families and consider the everyday behaviours that help strengthen those connections.

Encouraging earlier use of family support services

The exhibition also introduces the public to Wifaq’s wider family counselling, awareness and support services across different stages of family life.

One of its key messages is that counselling and professional support can be useful before serious problems or disputes develop, rather than only being sought during times of conflict.

The exhibition concludes today, October 4.
