Katara Opens 'From Roots Across Cultures to the Future' Exhibition

Katara Cultural Village Foundation, in cooperation with the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centre in Doha, opened the exhibition "From Roots Across Cultures to the Future" in Hall 47.

The exhibition will continue until October 3. Held under the theme "Legacy of the Past, Inspiration for the Future", the exhibition aims to strengthen cultural ties between Qatar and Turkey by evoking traditional values and historical and cultural heritage, and presenting them anew through a modern creative vision that opens new horizons for future generations.

Anwar Gedik, Director of the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centre in Doha, said the works on display highlight the importance of preserving cultural heritage while also reinterpreting and presenting it in a new form that allows it to be passed on to future generations. Gedik noted that Qatar and Turkey share a similar vision regarding the importance of culture and the arts, as well as preserving and safeguarding traditions. He affirmed that the exhibition helps strengthen cultural ties between the two countries and provides an opportunity for them to know one another more deeply through art.

Speaking about the participants, Elham Al Ansari, one of the Qatari artists taking part in the exhibition, said her participation is based on combining elements of Qatari heritage and culture with the Turkish art of ebru.

Al Ansari explained that she incorporated Qatari and Turkish ornamentation and motifs into paintings and fashion, presenting Qatari heritage in a contemporary spirit and creating a visual dialogue that brings the two cultures together.
