In a landmark moment for continental sports, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has officially elected H.E. Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani, as the new President of the Council.
The election took place today during the 46th OCA General Assembly in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Running as the sole candidate, Sheikh Joaan was elected by acclamation, receiving unanimous support from the 45 National Olympic Committees in attendance.
