Qatar has always been committed to seeing the unity and stability of Sudan maintained.

Last year, the country affirmed its full support to ensure Sudan’s stability and sovereignty and backed the formation of the new Sudanese government.

Qatar’s strong support to Sudan also shows in the several occasions where it has extended financial, medical, and other forms of humanitarian assistance to the brotherly Sudanese people, over the years.

With a view to further strengthen the bond between the two brotherly countries, the First Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan (TSC), Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, and his accompanying delegation arrived in Qatar on an official visit recently.

The Vice President of Sudan TSC held official talks with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Amiri Diwan yesterday.

The meeting began with Lt. Gen. Daglo highlighting the latest developments in Sudan to HH the Amir. He expressed his gratitude for Qatar's consistent support to Sudan in all areas, particularly its efforts toward achieving peace in Darfur.

During the session, the two sides also discussed bilateral ties and ways and ways to develop and enhance them further.

The talks also focused on the latest developments in the region and around the world.

During his official visit to Qatar, the Vice President of Sudan TSC also met with Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.
