His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, received mourners at Lusail Palace on Monday morning following the passing of His Highness the late Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
During the reception, Their Excellencies the Sheikhs, ministers, dignitaries, citizens and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the State of Qatar extended their deepest condolences and sympathies on the passing of the Father Amir, praying that Allah grants him mercy and the highest place in Paradise.
Also present were His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Amir, His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of the Amir, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, Speaker of the Shura Council, along with several members of the ruling family, including the sons of the late Father Amir, and other senior officials.
The condolence reception forms part of the official mourning period announced by the Amiri Diwan, with Lusail Palace welcoming mourners over three days following the passing of the Father Amir, whose leadership played a defining role in Qatar's modern development.
