HH The Amir and Syrian President review regional and international developments

HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.

HH The Amir, at the beginning of the meeting, welcomed the Syrian President and his accompanying delegation, expressing his hope that this visit would contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two brotherly countries and elevating it to broader levels in various fields.

For his part, Al Sharaa expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Tamim for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, affirming his country’s keenness to develop and enhance cooperation with Qatar in a way that serves the common interests of the two countries.

He also expressed his country’s solidarity with Qatar following the Iranian attacks and several other countries in the region, and its support for the measures Qatar is taking to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens.

The two sides affirmed their commitment to supporting security and stability in the region. They also reviewed bilateral cooperation between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop it across various fields.

The meeting was attended by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, and a number of other senior officials.

From the Syrian side, the meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan Al Shaibani, and a number of other senior officials.

HH the Amir and His Excellency the Syrian President held a bilateral meeting, during which they exchanged views on key issues of mutual interest.
