The futuristic Hamad International Airport (HIA), which has seen many accolades come its way, added another feather to its cap when it was recognised as the ‘Best airport in West Asia’ for the third time in a row at the Future Travel Experience (FTE) Asia Awards 2017 in Singapore.
The annual awards, which celebrate airports and airlines that have displayed customer experience and innovative leadership, was held at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, reported Gulf Times.
HIA was recognised for its continued commitment to delivering the highest standard of service to its passengers. The winners were selected by a panel of industry executives from around the world, with HIA taking the lead among other airports in the region, according to The Peninsula.
“We’re honoured to receive the Best Airport in West Asia award for the third consecutive time. HIA will continue to work towards delivering sophisticated and innovative solutions that offer an unparalleled travel experience,” HIA Chief Operating Officer Eng. Badr Mohammed Al Meer was quoted as saying by Qatar Tribune.
HIA is currently a candidate for the ‘Best airport in the world’ award by Skytrax, which also classified it as a five-star airport in 2017, making it one among only five other airports in the world to achieve this prestigious status.
