How Much Does a Social Weekend in Doha Really Cost?

A weekend out in Doha can be as affordable or as expensive as you make it. A simple activity and a casual catch-up can keep costs relatively low, while premium entertainment, dining and several stops throughout the day can quickly push the total higher.

So, how much should you actually set aside for a social weekend in Doha?

Start with one paid activity

One of the easiest ways to control your weekend spending is to choose one main paid activity and build the rest of the day around it.

At VOX Cinemas Qatar, a standard 2D cinema ticket is currently listed at QAR 45. Meanwhile, Qatar Bowling Center lists games at QAR 8 per person during its weekday happy hours and QAR 12 per person after 2 PM.

Combining a standard cinema ticket with a game of bowling therefore starts at around QAR 53 to QAR 57 per person before adding food, drinks or transport.

When the activity becomes the main event

Some weekends are built around one bigger experience rather than several smaller activities. This is where the budget can increase considerably.

VOX Cinemas currently lists 4DX tickets at QAR 130 and THEATRE tickets at QAR 175. For an even bigger day out, adult general admission to Doha Quest is currently listed at QAR 235.

Choosing one of these as the main activity means you may already be spending between QAR 130 and QAR 235 per person before dining, drinks or transport are added.

Food can change the budget quickly

Dining is often where a casual outing becomes a more expensive day or night out. A coffee or quick bite can keep spending relatively manageable, while a full dinner, desserts and additional stops can easily become one of the largest parts of the budget.

If you are trying to control spending, decide whether the main focus of the day will be the activity or the meal. Pairing a premium attraction with a higher-end dinner on the same day will naturally increase the total.

Do not forget the smaller costs

Transport, parking, snacks and spontaneous stops can be easy to overlook when planning. None may seem significant on its own, but together they can make a noticeable difference by the end of the weekend.

Group plans can also vary considerably depending on whether everyone travels separately, shares transport, orders individual meals or chooses activities that can be enjoyed together.

A social weekend does not have to be expensive

Doha offers plenty of ways to combine paid plans with free or lower-cost activities. You could pair a cinema trip with a walk outdoors, meet for coffee instead of a full dinner, or choose one major activity and keep the rest of the day simple.

Checking current offers before making plans can also help, particularly when organising an outing for a larger group.

So, what should you budget?

There is no single amount that represents a typical social weekend in Doha. Based on current published activity prices, a simple outing can stay below QAR 100 per person, while a day centred around a premium attraction can easily start above QAR 200 before food and transport.

The key is deciding what matters most before heading out. Pick the experience you really want, set a rough budget for everything else and leave a little room for any unplanned stops along the way.

Prices referenced were checked in October 2026 and may be subject to change.
