IRAN PRESIDENT SAYS TEHRAN WILL NOT TRADE INSULTS WITH TRUMP

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran will not respond to US President Donald Trump’s insulting rhetoric, pushing back against critics who say Iranian officials should verbally fire back.

Pezeshkian said Iran would not “learn this kind of policy” from someone whose hands, he said, were “stained with the blood of children.”

The comment appeared to refer to a US strike on an Iranian school that killed more than 100 children.

He said Trump could not speak or express his thoughts without insults, adding that Iran would firmly defend its rights.

Pezeshkian’s remarks came after Trump declared the ceasefire with Iran “over” during remarks at the NATO summit in Ankara.

Trump also repeatedly insulted Iranian leaders, calling them “liars”, “scum”, and “vicious, violent, sick people”.
