MOI Arrests Three Over Unlicensed Medical and Cosmetic Activities

The Criminal Investigation Department at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Interior, in coordination with the relevant authorities at the Ministry of Public Health, has arrested three individuals of a European nationality over alleged unlicensed medical and cosmetic activities.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the arrests followed information that medical and cosmetic services were being carried out inside an unlicensed facility.

Authorities investigated the information and, after obtaining the necessary authorisation from the Public Prosecution, apprehended the suspects while they were carrying out the activities.

The Ministry said the suspects admitted to the charges attributed to them.

A search of the location also resulted in the seizure of a number of devices, tools and medical supplies used in the activities.

The suspects, together with the seized items, were referred to the competent Public Prosecution to complete the required legal procedures.

The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Public Health also urged the public not to rely on advertisements promoting medical or cosmetic services without first verifying that the facility or clinic is properly licensed.

They also advised people to ensure that healthcare practitioners have obtained the required licences from the competent authorities before receiving services, in order to protect public safety and avoid dealing with unauthorised individuals or entities.
