MoPH warns against using Gastrozero over undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients

Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health has warned the public against using Gastrozero, after laboratory testing found that the product contains undeclared pharmaceutical substances that could pose a risk to health.

According to the Ministry, tests carried out by its Drug Quality Laboratory detected Sibutramine and Sildenafil in the product.

These substances were not declared as ingredients, leading the Ministry to classify the product as adulterated and potentially unsafe.

Gastrozero is not licensed in Qatar

The Ministry also confirmed that Gastrozero is not licensed in Qatar.

Despite this, the product is being promoted through social media platforms.

Residents have been advised not to purchase or use the product.

Why has the Ministry issued the warning?

The warning follows laboratory analysis confirming the presence of pharmaceutical substances that were not disclosed on the product.

The Ministry said the findings raise concerns over consumer safety and public health, particularly as users may be unaware that they are consuming these substances.

Regulatory and legal action underway

The Ministry of Public Health said it is working with relevant authorities in Qatar to take the necessary control, regulatory and legal measures against violations.

The action is intended to protect consumers and prevent the circulation of unsafe or unregulated products.

Residents who come across suspicious or unregulated health products, or who wish to make an enquiry, can contact the Ministry on 16000 or email ghcc@moph.gov.qa.
