Qatar Releases New Batch of Premium Vehicle Numbers via Sooum App

The General Directorate of Traffic at Qatar's Ministry of Interior has announced the release of a new batch of premium vehicle registration numbers through the Sooum app.

The registration window for expressing interest will open at 8:00 am on Sunday, July 5, 2026, allowing users to browse and apply for available premium numbers digitally.

According to the Traffic Department, applicants must express interest in their preferred number and pay the required security deposit within 72 hours. If only one applicant registers for a number, it will be awarded at the listed price. If multiple applicants express interest in the same number, a 24-hour internal auction will be held, with the highest bidder securing the registration number.

The Ministry also noted that users can browse available premium vehicle numbers directly through the Sooum app, which is available on Google Play, the Apple App Store, and Huawei AppGallery.

The initiative is part of the Ministry of Interior's ongoing efforts to digitise Traffic Department services and simplify access to premium vehicle registration number auctions.
