Qatar Science & Technology Park Partners with Microsoft to Strengthen Startup Support

Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, announced today a partnership with Microsoft to integrate Microsoft for Startups into its support ecosystem. The partnership gives eligible founders access to cloud computing and artificial intelligence technologies, technical expertise and market access support.

QSTP said the partnership has positively affected startup participation, with 105 of its incubated companies nominated to join the programme. Of these, 47 have already begun benefiting from its offerings, up from 32 companies in August to 47 currently, indicating growing interest within the innovation ecosystem.

Through the partnership, QSTP provides a dedicated pathway for joining the programme, enabling startup founders to access the technologies and support needed to develop their early-stage ventures and turn them into scalable products.

The programme provides a comprehensive package that includes USD 100,000 in credits for Azure cloud services, potentially increasing to USD 200,000 over two years depending on usage. It also provides access to artificial intelligence services infrastructure, GitHub Enterprise and Visual Studio Enterprise, alongside joint working sessions with specialised engineers offering technical support and tools that support market entry and access to customers and investors.

The potential value of the Azure credits available to the 47 companies currently participating ranges from USD 4.7 million to USD 9.4 million, depending on usage levels and eligibility requirements. These figures represent the maximum aggregate value available and do not constitute a guaranteed commitment to award the full amounts.

Engineer Ahmed Al Saeed, Director of Business Development at QSTP, affirmed that the park's role is to create the right environment for entrepreneurs, provide them with expertise and build partnerships capable of transforming their ideas into successful technology companies.

Al Saeed explained that the partnership with Microsoft gives founders in Qatar the ability to develop their products and compete in global markets from day one, contributing to the development of a knowledge-based economy and the achievement of the objectives of the Third National Development Strategy.

Ahmed Al Dandashi, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, said the State of Qatar has created an increasingly ambitious environment for entrepreneurs. He noted that the partnership with QSTP brings Microsoft for Startups closer to entrepreneurs and provides them with practical tools to build and test their products and scale their businesses.

Al Dandashi added that the participation of 47 companies and their initial use of the services turns ambitions into practical applications, helping transform local innovations into tangible solutions that support Qatar's drive to build a diversified, innovation-based economy.

Qatar Science & Technology Park plays a key role in supporting entrepreneurs across artificial intelligence, health and biomedical technology, financial technology, sustainability, education and cybersecurity, from idea validation through incubation, expansion and investment.
