Qatari teams concluded their Asian Beach Games – Sanya 2026 campaign with two gold medals (3x3 basketball and beach volleyball) and one silver (beach handball), underscoring the country’s continued strength in continental beach sports.

Beach volleyball stars Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan won gold after a commanding 2–0 (21–15, 21–12) victory over Iran in the final.
They dominated the tournament, topping Group B unbeaten before defeating the Maldives and Uzbekistan in the knockout stages, and China in the quarterfinals, followed by victory over Thailand in the semi-finals on their way to the title. Thailand claimed bronze after defeating Oman 2–0.

Qatar’s men’s 3x3 basketball team were crowned champions after defeating Thailand 21–10 in the final. Earlier, Qatar edged China 18–16 in the semifinals, while Thailand reached the final by beating the Philippines 20–18. China secured the bronze medal with a 21–13 victory over the Philippines in the third-place match.
Qatar topped Group C with a perfect record after victories over Bahrain, Kazakhstan and India, before defeating Iran in the quarter-finals. In the women’s 3x3 competition, Qatar were eliminated in the second round after a defeat to Singapore, having advanced by finishing third in their group.

Qatar’s national beach handball team claimed silver after a 2–1 defeat to Iran in the final. The team opened their campaign with victories over Pakistan, Oman, Bangladesh, Mongolia and Jordan, before securing top spot in their group with a win over Thailand. Qatar then defeated Bahrain in the semi-finals to reach the final. Thailand secured bronze after defeating Bahrain 2–0 in the third-place match.
