Qatar plays an instrumental role in maintaining regional and international security. This is reflected in the country’s frequent efforts to resolve crises through dialogue and mediation.

As an active peacemaker the country takes significant steps to find solutions to conflicts with the aim to protect future generations around the world, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated in a tweet.

Reaffirming Qatar’s commitment to addressing some of the world’s top security concerns, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, accompanied by an official delegation from Qatar, took part in the opening of the 56th Munich Security Conference yesterday.

The high-level meeting witnessed the participation of key decision-makers and top security officials from across the globe. 

Over three days of the important platform, delegates will discuss current security issues and concerns as well as look at ways to address them.

On the sidelines of the conference, HE Sheikh Mohamed also met with the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Francois-Philippe Champagne, Kyrgyz Minister of Foreign Affairs Chingiz Aidarbekov as well as other officials and heads of companies and institutions.

The meetings looked into ways to enhance cooperation in addition to exchanging views on issues of mutual concern.  

HE the FM also met with Kuwait's Prime Minister. The session focused on exploring ways to enhance cooperation as well as discussing issues of common concern.
