Within Education City, the arts are embedded across galleries, public spaces, academic institutions, architecture, and everyday experiences to inspire learning, spark connection, and deepen understanding of the world. And as this landscape continues to grow, Qatar Foundation has launched a new online space that brings it all together in one place.

The carefully curated page highlights Qatar Foundation’s (QF) growing ecosystem of public artworks, tours, initiatives, and learning resources, including works by celebrated Qatari and Arab creators as well as renowned international artists – all available through a single accessible destination.

Ameera M. Al-Aji, Community Arts Lead at Qatar Foundation, explains how the landing page demonstrates QF’s mission of shaping a holistic, human‑centered model of education and community development.

“The arts play a vital role in nurturing creativity, critical thinking, empathy, and cultural awareness skills that are essential for innovation and leadership in today’s world,” explains Al-Aji. “At QF, the arts are not treated as an add‑on, but as an integral part of everyday life across Education City.

She adds that the platform brings together cultural assets into one entry point for students, staff, and visitors to easily discover artworks, cultural narratives, tours, and learning resources.

“This strengthens engagement, encourages exploration, and removes barriers to access,” she says. “And digital platforms allow culture to be experienced anytime, anywhere, and in ways that resonate with different learning styles and generations.”

According to Al-Aji, the platform reflects QF’s belief that art and culture are not peripheral, but integral to education, wellbeing, and community life. “By making these assets openly accessible, QF amplifies their educational and cultural impact, supports lifelong learning, and ensures that its investment in creativity reaches broader and more diverse audiences both locally and globally.”

This initiative builds on more than a decade of sustained investment by QF in supporting the arts, with its portfolio spanning a wide spectrum – from the recent launch of Lawh Wa Qalam: M. F. Husain Museum to installations by Damien Hirst, Louise Bourgeois, and Choi Jeong Hwa; from housing a panel of the Berlin Wall at Georgetown University in Qatar, a QF partner university, to showcasing the Al Azzm sculpture symbolizing the determination of Qatari women, designed by His Excellency Sheikh Hassan Bin Mohammed Al Thani.

According to Al-Aji, collectively these play an important role in preserving, celebrating, and reinterpreting Qatar’s cultural heritage – such as Arabic calligraphy, craftsmanship, and storytelling – while embracing contemporary and international artistic practices. And this balance between tradition and innovation reflects QF’s vision of honoring cultural identity while fostering global cultural dialogue.

Speaking about QF’s offerings within the arts sphere, Al-Aji explains: “Rather than a single artwork, the spirit of Education City is best reflected in how art exists collectively across the campus integrated into universities, public spaces, heritage sites, and daily routes. These works embody dialogue, diversity, and learning, and together they reflect Education City as a living cultural landscape where tradition and experimentation coexist, and where art supports curiosity, reflection, and connection across disciplines and communities.

“I hope these initiatives leave audiences feeling seen, inspired, and connected to the place, to the stories embedded in the artworks, and to one another. If people walk away with a stronger sense of belonging, curiosity, and respect for culture as a shared human experience, then the impact of these efforts will be truly meaningful and long‑term.”

“By integrating art into everyday life, Education City becomes a space where learning is experienced holistically, shaped not only by classrooms and laboratories, but by shared cultural moments, public encounters, and meaningful experiences.”
