Take advantage of your free time and the pleasant weather this weekend by setting out to shop in an open bazaar, enjoying an outdoor festival or sending your taste buds on an adventure.

You will hardly be able to while away this weekend with the list of events we have assembled for you to explore.

1. Chocolate, Tea & Coffee Festival 2019

Dates: 30th January to 9th February

Timings: 05:00 pm - 12:00 am

Where: Al Bidda Park

Entry:  Entry is free for all

Get ready to indulge your sweet tooth!

Following the successful debut in 2018, the sweet indulgence Chocolate, Tea & Coffee Festival (CTC) is back in Doha with its second edition.

It's running from 30th January 2019 to 9th February 2019 at Al Bidda Park, so if you are a dessert and caffeine lover it’s time to prepare your taste buds!

The festival is created to bring chocolate, tea and coffee lovers to a unique outdoor venue where everyone can taste and experience the wide variety of different coffee cups, tea blends and assorted chocolates from at least 95 exhibitors.

2. Qanat Qarnevale at The Pearl-Qatar

Dates: 30th January to 2nd February

Timings: 04:00 pm - 09:00 pm

Where: Qanat Quartier – The Pearl Qatar

Entry:  Entry is free for all

Qanat Qarnevale will take place from 30 Jan – 2 Feb, from 4:00 to 9:00 PM, and is set to have a range of brilliant entertainment for children, families, residents, and visitors.

As master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, UDC launched the four-day festival of art, music, shopping, and entertainment to emulate the Carnival of Venice, and the celebration will be even more exciting this year.

Children will be able to enjoy games and activities in the designated kids' area. Families can take water taxi rides on the canal, encountering roaming LED drummers and a glass blower, seeing tap dancers and solo musicians, and watching the spectacular water fountain light shows.

There will also be game booths where visitors can win prizes, the chance to enjoy a movie outdoors, an art gallery, and on-stage entertainment from Wheel Acrobatics, LED dancers, and a jazz band.

As part of this year’s event, UDC will also be collaborating with UBER to give 50% off rides to and from Qanat Qarnevale – simply use the UBER code QQarnevale to claim your discount and join the carnival spirit.

3. Baladna Park Cultural Festival

Dates: 1st February – 1st March 2019

Timings: 10:00 am - 08:00 pm

Where: Baladna Park

Entry:  Adult’s entry fee - QAR 35, Kid’s entry fee – QAR 55

The Baladna Cultural Festival is coming to Qatar at Baladna Park this spring, promising an outdoor journey filled with vibrant fun and delicious flavour.

The event will take place each Friday and Saturday between 1st February and 1st March, and will consist of mouthwatering food, enchanting dance shows and entertainment, as well as cultural handicrafts from across the world; including American, Korean, Indian, Jordanian, Qatari, Irish, and many more exciting cultures and ethnicities.

Visitors will be subjected to the regular entrance fees:

Child – 55QR each

Adult – 35QR each

4. MIA Park Bazaar

Dates: 25th January - 13th April 2019

Timings: Fridays (2pm – 8pm) and Saturdays (12pm – 8pm)

Where: MIA Park

Entry: Entry is free for all

The MIA Park Bazaar is back!

This year, MIA Bazaar will be having a vibrant mix of 350 stalls and new ones will constantly pop up. MIA Park Bazaar is a modern version of the old souq tradition.

The stalls are going to offer a wide range of gastronomies from all over the world.

You can also browse and grab handcrafted artifacts, accessories, canvases, fashion wears, designer ornaments. If you’re looking for significant or customized presents for your precious ones, the bazaar offers a huge range of products for all the age groups.

5. Halal Qatar Festival

Dates: 2nd February – 10th February 2019

Timings: 08:00 am - 12:00 pm

Where: Parking Area 01, Katara Cultural Village

Entry:  Entry is free for all

Katara Cultural Village is set to host the 8th edition of Halal Qatar festival from 2 February – 10 February.

This year’s festival will feature an array of activities, including a few activities  with the aim of  educating people about the livestock sector in the country.

The festival will also be featuring livestock auctions of the best breeds of goat and sheep. More than 30 stalls are going to offer dairy, livestock products and traditional food items.

6. Mahaseel Festival

Dates: 1st January to 31st March

Timings: 09:00 am - 10:00 pm

Where: Katara's Southern Area

Entry:  Entry is free for all

The third edition of the Mahaseel shopping festival takes place every Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The market features fresh produce from local farms, nurseries and apiaries ranging from fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, livestock, poultry, honey, dates and dairy products to flowers and ornamental plants

They are also conducting workshops on plantation and flowers arrangements, in addition to some essential agricultural knowledge.

7. Laha Premier 2019

Dates: 9th January to 5th February

Timings: 10:00 am - 10:00 pm

Where: Doha Festival City

Entry: Entry is free for all

Currently in its 7th Edition, Laha Premier is a Business to Consumer (B2C) exhibition that invites premium brands to showcase their latest collections of fashion accessories, jewelries, watches and perfumes.

Al Khor Fly-In 2019

Dates: 1st and 2nd February

Timings: 08:00 am to 06:00 pm

Where: Al Khor airport (located 31km north of Doha, to the east of the Al Khor coastal road)

Entry:  Entry is free for all

The 2019 edition of the most anticipated Al Khor Fly-In event will be held at Al Khor airport on February 1 and 2, 2019.

The event will be featuring a number of airshows with private planes and will also be showcasing some of Qatar's most talented aerobatic pilots.

The event is aimed at promoting the sport of flying to the general public, and the adoption of aviation as a hobby, as well as encouraging tourism in Qatar.

Doha Triathlon 2019

Dates: 8th February

Timings: 05:00 am

Where: Museum of Islamic Art (MIA)

Entry: Register online on www.doha-triathlon.com

The 2019 Doha Triathlon will take place on Friday 8th February 2019, in the surrounding area of the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), with the picturesque view of Doha’s skyline in the backdrop.

In addition to last year’s Olympic, Sprint and Super Sprint distances, this year's triathlon is giving a chance to the kids to take part in duathlon for two age groups 7-9 and 10-12 years old.

Distances:

Kids Duathlon – 2 km bike, 800m run (Ages: 7-9 and 10-12 years old)

Super Sprint – 375m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5k run (Ages: 13-15 and 16+ adults)

Sprint – 750m swim, 20 km bike, 5k run (16+ adults)

Olympic – 1500m swim, 40 km bike, 10k run (16+ adults)

The swim will be taking place in the bay behind the Museum. Doha average sea water temperature in February is about 19 degrees Celsius (66.2 Fahrenheit) and therefore, as per ITU rules, the use of wetsuit will be most likely optional.

Transition will be placed next to Richard Serra’s ‘7’ Sculpture. The cycling leg will be along the Corniche and back to the Museum Park for the run.
