Qatar's humanitarian spirit, particularly at a time when the world grapples with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, has been outstanding.
While it intensifies efforts and continues to implement strict measures locally, the country has also been generously supporting other heavily-impacted nations to combat the infectious disease.
Upon His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani's directives, Qatar has sent tonnes of urgent medical aid including medical supplies and equipment to different countries including China, Iran, Italy, and Lebanon. The country has also provided financial assistance worth $150 million to needy families in Gaza.
With a view to defeat the virus through global solidarity and combined efforts, Qatar will now come to the aid of three more friendly nations.
Yesterday, HH the Amir directed urgent medical aid to be sent to the brotherly nation of Tunisia. The endeavor will support the "efforts of the brothers in Tunisia to fight the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic," Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
