With Qatar taking several steps to ensure its citizens and residents can take the COVID-19 vaccine safely and efficiently, the country's National COVID-19 Vaccination Program has been picking up pace.
Following the launch of a temporary vaccination center at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) in February, a drive-through vaccination facility in Lusail, a second drive-through vaccination center in Al Wakra, the country will today see the opening of a new vaccination center in the Industrial Area.
With the availability of these venues in addition to the PHCC health centers, a large number of eligible citizens and residents are able to get vaccinated against the virus in a safe and reliable manner.
In a weekly update, issued yesterday, MoPH highlighted that 29.8 percent of Qatar's total population (16 years and above) has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In the last seven days, as many as 168,925 doses of the vaccine were administered to citizens and residents of Qatar eligible to receive the vaccine.

The Ministry revealed that since the start of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program, a total of 1,079,776 vaccine doses have been given to those eligible to receive the vaccine in Qatar.
The infographic further mentions that one in four adults in the country has received at least one dose of the vaccine.
With the Ministry laying emphasis on the vaccinations of the elderly against the COVID-19 virus, it has been recorded that 77.2 percent of people above 80 years, 78.3 percent of people over 70 years and 79.8 percent of people above 60 have received at least one shot of the vaccine, so far.
The Ministry is also collecting feedback regarding side effects, if any, faced by individuals who have taken the COVID-19 vaccine.
Individuals wishing to share feedback can do so by clicking on the ‘COVID-19 Vaccination Feedback’ section on the Ministry's website.
The Ministry stressed the importance of feedback as it will allow health authorities to record and monitor any symptoms people have.
