If you felt Doha is one of the most beautiful capital cities in the region, then you are probably very right.

Qatar’s capital city is set to undergo a massive facelift in the next five years, thanks to a QR1bn fund offered by the government to develop and beautify it, reported Gulf Times.

The development of Doha will include the demolition of old buildings and broadening of streets, in addition to urban development of neighbourhoods.
“I’ve instructed the urban development sector to be strict in abiding by the relevant statutes and the creation of Furjan markets and playgrounds for the convenience of the people,” said Qatar’s Minister of Municipality and Environment HE Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi.

“There’s also a great interest in developing the towns on the outskirts of the city. After the development of Al Wakrah and Al Khor, there’re plans for the development of Al Shahaniya and partial development of Al Shamal,” he added.
