Authorities in Qatar have always been very prompt when it comes to matters of law and order. Their swift action and zero tolerance towards crime has made Qatar one of the safest countries anywhere in the world.

The latest example of the authorities’ no-nonsense attitude towards crime came on Saturday when they arrested a group of youngsters who assaulted an Asian individual in the deserts.

A video of the incident went viral on social media, which prompted authorities to take quick action.

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior tweeted that competent authorities had taken action against the assailants, who were then referred to the Public Prosecution for further action. 

“Referring to what was circulated on social media regarding a group of young men assaulting an Asian person in a desert area, the competent authorities in the Ministry of Interior have taken action,” read the Arabic statement.

The Ministry warned that it will not hesitate to take strict action against any such behaviour, which are against the law and societal values.
