Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs: More Than 34,000 Students Benefit from Al-Utrujah Quran Endowment

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, represented by the General Directorate of Endowments, announced that more than 34,000 male and female students have benefited from Quranic centres and schools supported by the Al-Utrujah Endowment. The beneficiaries are distributed across 176 Quranic centres and schools throughout the country, where more than 1,500 male and female teachers provide instruction.

Dr. Masoud Jarallah Bushraida, a preacher at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, said the Al-Utrujah Endowment represents a pioneering model of sustainable Quranic endowment. It combines the development of endowment assets with the allocation of investment returns to support Quran education.

He said the endowment strengthens women's connection with the Holy Quran and supports their pivotal role in building families and preserving identity and values amid rapidly evolving intellectual and technological challenges.

The General Directorate of Endowments manages and invests endowment assets in accordance with Sharia regulations and the conditions set by endowers. Its work includes regular property maintenance, monitoring revenue and expenditure, and assessing risks, while endowment property projects serve both charitable and investment purposes.

Dr. Bushraida explained that contributions to the endowment are open to all members of the community through shares valued at QAR 1,000 each or donations of any amount, according to individual means. Community members can also contribute by raising awareness of endowment initiatives.

The General Directorate of Endowments has introduced a service through its website and the Awqaf application, allowing users to search for vacant endowment-owned rental properties and submit rental applications electronically.

Dr. Bushraida thanked endowers and contributors for their role in supporting sustainable Quran education for future generations.
