The climate in Qatar has seen a downward spiral in recent days, announcing the imminent arrival of winter and cold.

But in between, there could also be windy days and today is likely to be one of those days.

Qatar’s Met Department has announced that strong winds can be expected in some parts of the country today, reported Gulf Times.

In a Tweet, the weather department said there could also be mild dust storms today.

Offshore areas too are likely to see strong winds and high seas, according to the tweet. Marine warning will remain in place until today evening.

Northwesterly winds are expected to blow at 8 to 18 knots inshore, going up to 22 knots in some places in the early hours of the day. Offshore, the speed of northwesterly winds will range from 12 to 22 knots, reaching a high of 25 knots occasionally.

A maximum temperature of 40C is expected in Al Khor and 39C in Doha, Mesaieed and Wakrah. The minimum, on the other hand, will be 25C in Mesaieed and Wakrah, while in Doha it will be 30C.

Visibility will be four to eight kilometres or three kilometre or less at places, reported The Peninsula.
