Qatar’s Cabinet held its regular meeting via video conferencing this afternoon.
His Excellency Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani chaired the meeting.
The cabinet welcomed the ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) rejecting two appeals by Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom Bahrain, and Egypt on the jurisdiction of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) over Qatari claims.

The cabinet considered that this ruling reaffirms the integrity of the legal position of Qatar in the issue of the unjust blockade imposed by four countries in clear violation of international law, and international agreements and foundations and rules of solidarity and regional cooperation.
The cabinet also praised the achievement of the State of Qatar, as it continued to lead the list of the safest and most crime-free countries worldwide, according to the global database (Numbeo) during the first half of this year 2020, which included 133 countries in the assessment.
Other decisions:
- Cabinet heard a presentation by HE the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments to contain the coronavirus (COVID-19). The cabinet affirmed continued implementation of the precautionary measures taken to combat this pandemic.
- Cabinet reviewed the report of HE Minister of Municipality and Environment, on building permits and the mechanism for issuing it, and potential challenges, whether related to engineering consulting offices or to owners or to the requirements of government service agencies.
- Cabinet approved solutions proposed in the report to address these difficulties and mandated the Ministry of Municipality & Environment to take necessary measures and coordinate with all concerned authorities to put these solutions into practice within a period not exceeding six months.
