The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has said that the cold spell and strong winds the country is experiencing now are set to continue at least until January 21, Saturday. It added that there could also be a significant drop in temperatures in the coming days.
The QMD, in a social media post, said strong northwesterly winds were the reason for the cold spell.

A QMD forecast states that during this period, the maximum temperature in the country is expected to range from 18 to 21°C during the day and the minimum from 12 to 16°C at night in different places. It could go even lower in some southern and external areas.
Doha and other parts of the country experienced very windy and dusty conditions on Tuesday, with gusts of wind exceeding 30 knots in some areas. There was also a drop in visibility, especially in the evening, said the Met department.

The QMD has issued a marine warning to the general public and cautioned them to avoid all sea activities until Wednesday.
Fresh Northwesterly wind will continue until tomorrow evening inshore & offshore, it will be strong in speed and the gusts exceed 25KT. It is expected that marine warning will continue until tomorrow and the wave height will range between (4-9, sometimes reaching 12 FT). #Qatar
