There's a lot to look forward to as Qatar heads toward the final stage of its four-phased gradual lifting of the COVID-19 restrictions plan.

One of the most-awaited among the resumption of activities and facilities, perhaps, is the Doha Metro service.

In a series of tweets on its official Twitter page, Doha Metro has announced that it is gearing up to be back on track.

"We have ensured that our staff receives the required training to comply with National COVID-19 precautions," Doha Metro said.

In addition to training staff, as many as 300 hand sanitizers have been installed in strategic locations across all stations, according to Doha Metro.

Moreover, to help prevent the spread of infections and ensure a safe journey to all our customers, Doha Metro has been working continuously to sanitize surfaces in its stations.

"As a high body temperature is an indicator of potential infections, thermal scanners have been installed to monitor the temperature of customers entering our stations," Doha Metro highlighted.

Furthermore, to encourage social distancing, at least 18,000 social distancing messages have been installed across the Doha Metro network.

Doha Metro and public buses had stopped services as part of Qatar's precautionary measures against COVID-19.

It is expected that Doha Metro will start operations in Phase 4. However, the date for the re-opening hasn't been announced yet.
