In another interesting development, Doha residents will now be able to keep abreast of the most recent weather updates while out and about on Qatar's roads.

In line with international standards in the field of meteorology, Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has teamed up with Ashghal to install these electronic panels on some of Qatar's major streets and highways.

Road users may not need to check weather updates elsewhere as the panel screens will display all the relevant information they need to know.

The data will comprise recorded temperatures, humidity rates and weather warnings in Arabic and English.

QCAA said the panels will present information based on the special daily reports issued by the authority's Meteorological Department, which are updated and monitored around the clock.

QCAA pays particular attention to meteorology, providing it with the necessary support both in terms of advanced technologies and devices or expertise and specialized cadres to achieve more quality and to keep up with the latest developments in this area.

This reflects the authority's belief in the essential role played by meteorology in different economic activities and areas of daily life, in the form of reports issued by the authorities responsible for air traffic, air navigation, ports, and maritime navigation, among other entities.

The new initiative complements QCAA's recent launch of the meteorological application "Q Weather", which is a digital platform for all weather information in Qatar. The app provides daily weather reports covering all areas and regions of the country.
