Facebook rolls out ‘Your Algorithm’ to give users more control over Feed and Reels

Meta announced the launch of a new feature on the Facebook platform that allows users to control the posts and videos that appear to them, by selecting topics they want to see more of or reduce their appearance.

The feature, called "Your Algorithm," allows users to express their interests and preferences in their own words, rather than relying solely on their previous interactions, such as likes, views, and comments, to determine suggested content.

The feature includes content displayed on the homepage and short videos /Reels/, with the ability to edit preferences through the control options available next to posts.

The feature relies on large language models that help recommendation systems understand users' requests and preferences, allowing suggested content to be adjusted according to their guidance.
