The Referees Committee of the Gulf Football Federation announced today the officiating teams for the two semi-final matches of the 27th Gulf Cup, hosted by the Saudi city of Jeddah until 6 October.
The committee assigned Portuguese referee Joao Pinheiro to officiate the Saudi Arabia-Qatar match at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium. He will be assisted by fellow Portuguese officials Pedro Ribeiro and Luciano Maia, while Bahrain's Ammar Mahfouz will serve as the fourth official and his compatriot Mohammed Jafar Salman as the fifth official.
Under the Video Assistant Referee system, China's Fu Ming was appointed as the video referee, assisted by Kuwait's Abdullah Arab, while the UAE's Hamad Al Mazrouei will serve as the referees assessor.
The second match, between the UAE and Oman at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium, will be officiated by Dutch referee Danny Makkelie. He will be assisted by compatriots Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries, while Iraq's Zaid Thamer will serve as the fourth official and his compatriot Haider Abdul Hassan as the fifth official.
Under the Video Assistant Referee system, Dutch official Erwin Blank was appointed as the video referee, assisted by Bahrain's Ismail Habib, while Saudi Arabia's Abdulrahman Al Omari will serve as the referees assessor.
