According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), obtaining health insurance that will cover the period of stay and a return ticket is mandatory to receive approval for the family visit visa.

Lt. Col. Tariq Issa Aqeedi from the General Directorate of Passports of the Ministry of Interior spoke during a webinar focused on ‘the Services of General Directorate of Passports on Metrash2 and the Services of Qatar Visa Centers Abroad’, yesterday.

Lt. Col. Aqeedi explained that a number of family visit visa applications have been rejected due to not meeting the criteria.

Highlighting the necessity of automatic RP renewal, he highlighted that many companies do not use it, even though it can renew a large number of RP at once.

“This service allows companies to renew the residence permits of their employees, regardless of their number, just on one request, without entering the data of each employee and completing each transaction alone. Companies with a large number of employees can benefit from this feature,” he noted.

The event was attended by over 300 persons from HR, finance, safety, security, public and private organizations, schools, and heads and representatives of expatriate communities. The Public Relations Department collaborated with the General Directorate of Passports to host the event.

According to Lt. Col. Aqeedi, the total number of transactions processed through Metrash2 in the first half of this year was 440,028, with 305,302 of those transactions being dedicated towards residence renewal.

More than 220 active services are available in the Metrash2 app, which is available in Arabic, English, French, Malayalam, Urdu, and Spanish.

Moreover, it ensures secure and encrypted services and supports the majority of smart devices, allowing it to reach the widest possible audience.

He advised citizens and the public to keep using Metrash2 services as they had been at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is important to use Metrash2 especially in the recent exceptional times, that witnessed many changes due to coronavirus pandemic, which obliged everyone to take the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the State to protect the society,” he added.
