Her Excellency the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Al Kuwari opened the Primary Health Care Corporation’s South Al Wakra Health Center yesterday.
Managing Director of PHCC, Dr Mariam Abdulmalik and several other healthcare representatives were present on the occasion.
The opening of the South Al Wakra Health Center reflects the Ministry of Public Health’s (MoPH) focus on providing easier access to healthcare services to citizens and residents in various neighborhoods across the country.
HE the Minister of Public Health highlighted that MoPH has been striving to ensure that all patients receive healthcare at the right time and place with a focus on elevating the patients’ experience and enhancing patient safety.
The quality of services provided is being continually developed to meet patients' needs while applying the highest of quality standards, she said.
With the launch of this new health center, the total number of PHCC health centers now stands at 28.
Covering an area of about 3,000 square meters, the South Al Wakra Health Center is a single-story building featuring nine clinics.
The center will have a 5000-patient capacity in the first year, which will be increased to 10,000 gradually.

PHCC Managing Director commented that the new center is equipped with all the essentials required to deliver an outstanding health and medical services level for optimal use.
Dr Abdulmalik mentioned that the distribution of services in health centers has been done in line with the plans developed, corporate strategy, future vision, and the needs of patients.
The South Al Wakra Health Center has been established under the highest standards approved for health facilities and with international standards, to achieve the required sustainability standards and ensure the comprehensiveness and integration of services, she noted.
Patients can visit the center during its official working hours: 7 am to 11 pm, Sunday to Thursday.
To register in or transfer to the new South Al Wakra Health Center, patients can use the PHCC's Nar'aakom mobile application. The center’s services cover some of the neighborhoods of Zone 90 based on the national address.
