Qatar has always stood by Palestine and its people to extend a helping hand in times of emergency and crisis

As the world faces a pandemic, in light of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, Qatar has once again stepped up to offer assistance to the sisterly State of Palestine.

According to a press statement by the Amiri Diwan, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has given directives to provide urgent financial support to the State of Palestine.

This comes in line with Qatar's contribution amid global efforts to combat the outbreak of the emerging COVID-19.

The Palestinian Authority is struggling to cope with the pandemic with its limited resources and weak healthcare system, Al Jazeera reported

Qatar's support toward Palestine in these critical times adds to its earlier humanitarian endeavors over the years, be it in the form of providing monetary aidrebuilding housesextending medical support, or advocating for the Palestinian cause at various international meetings.

Earlier this week, upon the directives of HH the Amir, Qatar also sent urgent medical aid to Iran to help the country combat COVID-19. Iran has become one of the hardest-hit countries to face the pandemic with over 17,300 cases recorded until now

Additionally, HH the Amir also expressed Qatar's willingness to support Italy and China in their battles against the virus that is evolving rapidly around the world.

Meanwhile, Qatar continues to intensify its measures to safeguard the health of its citizens and residents.
