His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani graced the graduation ceremony of the 7th batch of students of Al Zaeem Mohamed Bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Air College at its headquarters in Al Udied Air Base yesterday.

The newly graduated batch included 97 candidates, 88 from Qatar and nine from Kuwait.

From these, 33 graduated as fixed wing pilots, 28 as helicopter pilots, seven as weapon systems officers, and 29 with specialization in directing fighter aircraft.

Also among the batch was Qatar’s first female fighter pilot who completed all her course requirements proficiently.

All graduates successfully fulfilled the requirements of their training program to achieve a bachelor’s degree in aviation science.

HH the Amir, along with His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani and several other ministers and dignitaries, was present on the occasion to honor outstanding graduates.

The graduation ceremony saw the attendance of some top aviation officials from brotherly countries like Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Turkey, and Pakistan.

Heads of the diplomatic missions accredited to Qatar as well as senior officers from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of the Interior, the State Security Bureau, and the Amiri Guard also attended the graduation ceremony.

The ceremony began with Qatar’s national anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an.

The graduates then came together to present the graduates’ parade and the military parade, after which HH the Amir honored the top-performing eight graduates and four officer graduates.

The graduating batch then handed over the flag to the eighth batch. The order for promotion was read out and the parade ended.

A special feature of the ceremony was the air show, which began with several Amiri Air Force planes and aircraft from Al Zaeem Mohamed Bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Air College.

Rafale, Mirage 2000, Alpha Jet, Apache, Agusta, C-17 and C-130 aircraft, as well as a Twin Otter skydiving aircraft, were among the Amiri Air Force fleet.

Al Zaeem Air College’s aircraft comprised the PC-21s, Super Mushshak, and Gazelle.

Delivering a speech on the occasion, Al Zaeem Air College Commander Staff Brigadier Pilot Hamad Hadid Mubarak Al Ibrahim called the graduates “the leaders of tomorrow” who are eager to protect their homeland.

The ceremony concluded with the graduates taking the oath and singing the national anthem.
