His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani performed the Istisqaa (rain-seeking) Prayer early this morning.
Istisqaa is a special prayer that is performed when seeking rain and follows the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The Personal Representative of HH the Amir, a number of Excellencies Senators and Ministers, His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council, and some other citizens joined HH the Amir in the rain-seeking prayers.

The Judge at the Court of Cassation and member of the Supreme Judicial Council Sheikh Dr. Thaqil bin Sayer Al Shammari led the prayer and delivered a sermon at the end, calling on worshippers to repent and ask Allah for forgiveness, avoid sedition and make supplication to Almighty Allah for rainfall.
The Istisqaa prayer was also held at some 78 mosques across the country.
