HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani patronized the inauguration of the third ordinary session of the first legislative term, corresponding to the Shura Council’s 52nd annual session, at the Tamim bin Hamad Hall at the Shura Council’s headquarters on Tuesday.

During his opening address, Sheikh Tamim lambasted the Israeli attacks on Palestinian people and said ‘enough is enough.’

Speaking during the opening of the 52nd annual session of the Shura Council, he said, “We’re saying enough is enough. It’s untenable for Israel to be given an unconditional green. It shouldn’t be allowed in our time to use cutting off water and preventing medicine and food,” he said, referring to Israel’s cutting off of the basic amenities to the people of Gaza and their sustained bombardment of civilian areas.

HH The Amir also spoke about Qatar’s continued role as a peacemaker.

“With regard to our foreign policy, we seek, within the framework of striking a balance between our principles and interests, to assume a constructive role in making peace and resolving disputes through peaceful means,” he said.

The inauguration was attended by HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of HH The Amir, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani and HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, Ministers and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the State and dignitaries also attended.
