HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani concluded his successful week-long trip to the USA, accompanied by several key ministers and top businessmen, reported Qatar Tribune.
Before concluding the visit, HH The Emir met several top members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, discussing with ways to review bilateral ties and the means to enhance them in different fields in order to serve joint interests, reported Gulf Times.
They also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, discussing the GCC crisis and its implications on the region and its undermining of international counter-terrorism efforts.
The representatives expressed their thanks to Sheikh Tamim for Qatar’s role in that regard, through Al Udeid Airbase.
HH The Emir also met the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee Mac Thornberry and its members at the US Congress in Washington.
They reviewed bilateral cooperation in the defence, military, and security fields, and the means to enhance them.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump had expressed great satisfaction at how well relationship between the two countries were working.
Qatar’s enhanced efforts to fight terrorism and end it had also come in for wide praise yesterday.
