The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara has announced the launch of the fourth season of the Teen Art Awards 2026, presented in partnership with Art Coordinate Foundation and the British Council.
Submissions will be accepted from August 1 until November 1, while the closing ceremony and presentation of awards will take place on December 3 at Katara Drama Theatre.
The programme includes an international open call, an educational programme, a dedicated project for teenagers with disabilities, a panel discussion and digital showcases.
This year’s theme, “Belonging”, encourages participants to reflect on identity, memory, culture and community and express their perspectives through art.
Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara, said hosting the fourth season reflects the foundation’s belief that culture is both a message and a responsibility, and that investing in future generations begins by giving them opportunities to express their ideas and creativity within an international cultural environment.
He added that the theme carries significant cultural and human dimensions and supports the values of diversity, dialogue and understanding between communities.
Dr Waseem Kotoub, Director of the British Council in Qatar, said empowering young people to express their ideas and creativity is one of the council’s key priorities.
He noted that the initiative brings together young artists, teachers and cultural institutions from around the world, while supporting creative learning, cultural exchange and dialogue.
Daria Kalinina, Founder and President of Art Coordinate Foundation and the Teen Art Awards, said the initiative was established on the belief that creativity begins at an early age and that young people deserve genuine platforms through which they can present their talent to the world.
More than 60 countries were represented by young artists during the previous season.
The international contemporary art platform is open free of charge to young artists aged 13 to 17 from around the world.
