Ministry of Justice unveils new uniforms for lawyers inspired by Qatari heritage

His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi, Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, has launched a new professional uniform for lawyers of all categories, in a step that reflects the Ministry of Justice's keenness to strengthen the national judicial identity and highlight the connection to the Qatari cultural heritage, through a design that combines the authenticity of heritage with the requirements of professional appearance, in a way that enhances the specificity of the legal profession and its place in the justice system.

The launch of the new uniform comes as an embodiment of pride in the national identity and evoking elements of the Qatari heritage in one of the visual components of the judicial institution, as its designs were inspired by Qatari culture, giving the uniform a distinctive character that reflects the national identity, and emphasizes the importance of preserving cultural specificity in performing the mission of the noble legal profession.

The design of the new uniform took into account the adoption of four professional levels, each of which embodies the professional degree of the lawyer, reflecting the gradual career path of the lawyer, and taking into account the different degrees of pleading before the courts.

The four levels are divided into a special uniform for a lawyer of cassation, another for a lawyer of appeal, and a third for lawyers of the courts of first instance, while the fourth level is allocated to lawyers under training, in a classification that highlights the professional gradation and distinguishes between the various groups working in the legal profession.

On this occasion, Mr. Abdulkareem Hamoud Al-Ruwaili, Director of the Law Department at the Ministry of Justice, explained that the launch of the new professional uniform comes within the framework of the Ministry's interest in the institutional development of the legal profession and enhancing its presence within the judicial system, pointing out that the design is inspired by the Qatari cultural heritage and reflects the keenness to combine the Qatari national identity with the requirements of the profession.

He added that the adoption of four levels of uniform with precise embroidery of the Qatari Bisht for men and hand embroidery for women, in addition to the differentiation in colors between different types, represents a trend to regulate the professional appearance of lawyers according to their professional grades, and to highlight the paths of development in the profession, starting from the training stage to pleading before the Court of Cassation.

He pointed out that this step is not limited to the formal aspect, but carries professional and symbolic connotations related to the status of the lawyer and his role in achieving justice, and reflects the importance of consolidating the values of discipline, excellence and pride in the national identity in the practice of the profession.

The new uniform is expected to constitute a qualitative addition that enhances the performance and efficiency of lawyers by establishing a unified visual identity based on the national cultural heritage, and reflects the professional and organizational development of the profession, in line with the directions of the Ministry of Justice towards enhancing the efficiency of the justice and legal system in the country.
