HH The Amir Performs Istiqa Prayer

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani led the Istiqa prayer with the crowd of worshippers at Lusail Prayer in commemoration of the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and prayed to God Almighty to water the country and its people.

The prayers were led by His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of the Amir, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, and His Excellency Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani. It was also performed by HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, Ministers, members of the Shura Council, dignitaries and senior officials.

In his sermon after the prayer, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Yahya Butti Al-Nuaimi called on the worshippers to supplicate to God with humble hearts and revered souls, indicating that the prayer of ascites embodies the servant's lack of his Creator, and the return of the whole matter to Him.

His Eminence explained that the delay in rain is a reminder to people of their weakness and their constant need for the mercy of their Lord, and a call to them to hold themselves accountable and abandon disobedience.

His Eminence also urged the need to accompany the advice of seeking forgiveness and repentance, and to increase the number of charities and types of righteous deeds, indicating that they are among the reasons for bringing mercy and the descent of ghaith, stressing the importance of thanking the blessing of water, preserving it and not overdoing it.
