Qatar’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce has instructed shops and commercial complexes operating in the country to remove all goods imported from blockading countries — Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) — from its shelves with immediate effect, reported The Peninsula.

Inspectors of the Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry has already started visiting shops and commercial complexes across Qatar to ensure the decision is carried out.

The instruction was made in a circular dated May 26, 2018, from  Assistant Undersecretary for the Consumer Protection Affairs at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Sheikh Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani to all shops and commercial complexes.
