Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has highlighted a Metrash service that allows users to authorise eligible family members to activate the app on their own phones.
The Authorisation Service for Registering Relatives is intended for family members such as a wife or children who do not have a mobile number registered in their own name.
The service provides another way for families to access Metrash’s digital services without requiring each eligible family member to have a separately registered mobile number.
How does the service work?
According to the Ministry of Interior, the process can be completed directly through Metrash in a few steps.
Users should first open the app and access the Authorisation section from the main menu. They can then select Register Relatives and enter the required information for the family member they wish to authorise.
After the process is completed successfully, Metrash will be activated on the authorised person’s phone.
Who can use the service?
The Ministry’s guidance specifically identifies wives and children as relatives who can be authorised through the service when they do not have a mobile number registered in their own name.
The feature is designed to make access to Metrash easier for eligible family members while allowing the primary user to complete the authorisation digitally through the app.
