With Qatar moving into phase two of the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions from tomorrow, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) has highlighted that metro and public transit services will continue to operate at 30 percent capacity.

In a post on its Twitter page, MoTC said, “As new decisions are taken to gradually lift COVID-19 curbs and to protect safety and wellbeing of all, it's been decided as of June 18.”

The Ministry underlined that metro and public transit services continue to operate seven days a week at a capacity not exceeding 30 percent, taking into account the following restrictions:

Allowing entry only for those with "green" status on EHTERAZ App and those who wear medical facemasks.

Banning smoking at entrances of means of public transit and following instructions on posters.

Banning eating and drinking inside stations and on public transit system.

The Qatari Cabinet yesterday gave its nod of approval for the second phase of the easing of COVID-19 restrictions in the country.

Among a series of other decisions, children under 12 years of age will be permitted to enter malls starting Friday, June 18, 2021.
