With Eid 2022 approaching just around the corner, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has developed instructions to assist individuals who wish to go overseas.

As mentioned on twitter by MOFA, with the aim of the State of Qatar's endeavor to facilitate the travel and accommodation of its citizens, as well as to protect them from any difficulties or obstacles they may encounter while traveling, MOFA provides some important guidelines to help those who wish to travel abroad.

The guidelines are as follows:

  • Keep your passport and ID numbers for future reference in the case of a passport loss.
  • Carry less quantity of cash with you when traveling, and retain any currency exchange receipts.
  • Take into account and follow the COVID-19 requirements for each nation.
  • Register before traveling by visiting the ministry's website or using the Ministry of Foreign Affairs app.
  • When you reach at the destination country's airport, you must notify the customs officer about the cash in your hands.
  • Do not, under any circumstances, pawn your passport or ID card.
  • If you were interrogated in any way, you must immediately notify the State of Qatar's mission.
  • Check the official capability of those who require you to provide your identification.
  • Check that the passports and/or identity cards, if necessary, are valid and in use.
  • Obtain visas and entrance visas ahead of time for nations that require them.
  • Official papers, such as passports, plane tickets, and personal possessions, should be kept in a secure location.
  • Obtain the COVID-19 vaccination doses and COVID tests required by the airline and destination country.
  • Comply with the host country's rules and regulations, as well as travel conditions and international aviation standards, and avoid bringing forbidden goods.
  • It is preferable not to travel with gold jewelery or valuables.
  • In crowds and marketplaces, keep an eye on your youngsters.
  • In the case of a difficulty, you must immediately notify the State of Qatar's nearest embassy or consulate.
  • Keep the contact information for Qatar's embassy in the host nation on hand for future reference.
